After years of building Gitpod, we've re-founded as Ona, the mission control for your personal team of software engineering agents. It's official that the industry is now 'moving beyond the IDE' from hand-typing to orchestrating across multiple agents. Think of this issue as your field guide for running parallel agentic workflows easily, and with enterprise guardrails.

Ecosystem watch

Gitpod is now Ona

IDEs defined the last era, but agents define the next. The work of programming is moving from typing to product taste, decision making, and review. That's why we're re-founding as Ona: the mission control for your personal team of autonomous software engineering agents, built upon our standardized and automated development environment foundation. Upgrade to Core and you get $100 in credits during the month of September.

Fireside chat: Kingland × Ona

Join us live with Kingland and our CEO + CTO. In this fireside chat we'll go deep with Patrick to hear how Kingland performs 10x faster migrations and how they automate documentation on 15-year old legacy code. All whilst maintaining compliance as a CMMI Level 5 org. Expect hands-on tactical insights in how to successfully adopt coding agents at scale.

Behind the scenes with Latent Space

On Latent Space's lightning pod, Johannes and Chris cover parallel flow, auditability, and the behind-the-scenes technical aspects: devcontainer.json, automations.yml, runner deployments, and plus hard edges like file edits and model selection.

Kent Beck: Moving beyond the IDE

Kent Beck traces the arc from patch boards to IDEs to agents and argues the modern loop: intention → agentic changes → human review makes diff comprehension, validation, and multi-thread parallelism the core craft of programming.

Best practices for using Ona

We open up our internal playbook for how Ona contributes 72% of code merged using AGENTS.md, custom slash commands, MCP servers for Linear and mobile workflows.
